Many people report that they have started losing weight in week 3, but if you haven't, don't be discouraged; it will come soon. By week 3, many people can think more clearly, sleep more soundly, and say they have more energy. Again, if you're not there yet, don't despair, just know it's coming soon. It's probably mostly about the weight of the water because as you burn your carbohydrate stores, your body releases the water that was bound to those carbohydrates.
As I set out to lose 10 pounds, I quickly overcame it. I lost 10 pounds in three weeks and achieved 15 pounds two days before the wedding. Then, after about a week to 10 days, many low-carb people suddenly begin to feel the positive effects of keto adaptation. This change, during which glycogen stores are burned and ketones are switched to, usually takes less than a week.
As I mentioned in my week 2 post, I thought I had experienced ketosis (if it was, it was minimal), but after week 3 I better understood how it felt.
